John McCrum and Nick Brunette obtain summary judgment for City of Hammond
John McCrum and Nick Brunette obtained summary judgment in a case in which the plaintiff sued the City of Hammond and a police officer after the officer entered her home in search of a missing boy. The plaintiff filed a federal lawsuit alleging that a Hammond police officer was not authorized to enter her home without a warrant; and that she was injured in the process. Motions for summary judgment were filed, in which the defenses of qualified immunity and exigent circumstances were asserted. After hearing oral arguments, the U.S. District Court granted summary judgment to the defendants on all federal claims.
